Digital explorations and training for sustainable tourism at Turano Valley

June 5

The villages of the Turano Valley, Italy, are preparing to welcome a widespread event in the name of innovation, active participation and training for sustainable territorial development. On Thursday 5 June 2025, the participatory application GREENGAGE app, developed within the GREENGAGE project, will be tested.

The day will open at 11:30 with an exploratory walk during which it will be possible to test the GREENGAGE app – a free digital tool designed to stimulate civic participation and collect ideas and suggestions on places in the village. The event will offer a concrete opportunity for citizens, visitors and administrators to experience first-hand a technology useful for local co-design and the enhancement of environmental and cultural heritage. The event will also help promote a digital participatory process open to environmental observations, collective narratives and shared visions for the sustainable future of the villages. This will be a first step towards an innovative model of collaborative governance, in which technology is at the service of local communities to strengthen the link between territories, inhabitants and sustainable development strategies.

In the afternoon, from 15:00 to 17:00, a complementary activity will be held – a workshop “Co-creating sustainable tourism in the villages” – part of the path of the European project SusTourTraining, dedicated to the deepening of key skills to promote responsible and regenerative tourism in rural contexts and inland areas.

Participation is free, with registration for the afternoon session (in person or online).
